How can I make a victorian era-looking gown?
I want to be Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd for Halloween. My grandmother can sew just about anything, so where can I find a dress pattern for a victorian era gown? I’m envisioning gothic style, but not slutty. (I don’t have a big bust area.) Almost like a Marie Antoinette gown.
Ebay sells dress patterns for some good prices. I’ve seen some recently, but I don’t know if they will have what you want. You might even consider buying a complete dress that might look like what you had in mind. Wal-mart has some dress patterns and fabrics as well. Perhaps yard sales and some of your friends/your mom’s friends/your grandmother’s friends could have the pattern you need. I hope I helped! Good luck!
